RP Sharma Institute of Technology was established in the year 1980, by the name of Patna Institute of Technology by Late Professor RP Sharma, the founder of Patna Educational Development Trust. Later on, in order to commemorate the memory of its great founder Late R. P. Sharma and it rechristened as R P Sharma Institute of Technology. RPSIT is affiliated to Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE, New Delhi.
RP Sharma Institute of Technology Patna is recognized by Science and Technology Department, Government of Bihar. The institute has an active placement cell offering excellent placement facility for the students in prominent national and multinational companies.
